Jackson-Via is committed to community outreach. We believe it does take a village to raise a child and we are constantly working to strengthen our community ties.
We are fortunate to have a strong relationship and partnership with United Methodist Church. Through generous donations, the church supports our students in many ways. First, we host a food pantry in our school which is open to the public on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings. The church also donates snacks so that students who do not bring a snack from home are able to get one at school. Also, for the first time this year, because of the generosity of church members, we were able to provide backpacks and school supplies for ALL our students at the beginning of the school year. This “pack to school” program was greatly appreciated by parents and students. Last, United Methodist Church sponsors the “Angel Tree,” a program that provides gifts for families in need during the holiday season. This year we served over 50 children and hosted an “Angel Tree” party at Jackson-Via.
